Powerflushing

Give your heating system a fresh start by removing built-up sludge and sediment.

BR Heating and Plumbing powerflushing project
BUILT AROUND YOUR PROPERTY

Sludge and sediment can build up in a heating system. We connect a powerflush machine and introduce a cleaning solution to release deposits and keep them suspended in the water.

The machine circulates water at high velocity. We concentrate the flow through one radiator at a time, then work through the remaining radiators and any underfloor heating manifolds and loops. Each loop is treated individually.

Finally, we flush with clean water to remove residue, carry out a total dissolved solids (TDS) test and add an inhibitor to help protect the boiler, pipes and radiators against rust and corrosion.

Your questions, answered.

Can you powerflush underfloor heating?

Yes. We can include underfloor heating manifolds and loops, treating each loop individually.

How often is a powerflush needed?

The right interval depends on your system’s condition and maintenance history. We assess the installation and advise whether flushing is appropriate rather than assuming every system needs it at a fixed interval.
